THE JEWETT FAMILY FOUNDATION FUND & THE JEWETT ARCHITECTURAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND LIFELONG RESIDENT HAS DESIGNS ON CEDAR POINT. You could hardly have a greater impact on Erie County than to be the architect of Cedar Point’s renaissance, literally. A vision that helped propel Cedar Point’s attendance to its highest levels sprung from the mind of Lee Jewett. His first midway design – The Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad Funway Station – came to life while he was a supplier; he joined the staff soon thereafter and rose to become Corporate Vice President of Planning and Design at Cedar Fair. Project-by-project Lee forged the look of the midway that we all know so well. And Lee’s designs live outside the amusement park, too, including many grand homes, way-finding signs, business identities, and even the marquee of the State Theatre. Lee and Sandra Jewett are lifelong residents of Erie County, and graduates of Sandusky City Schools. They established their donor advised fund as founders of the Community Foundation. Erie County has been their place of dreams, and they are paying it forward. Distributions from their fund mirror their involvement in the commu- nity, including active involvement in various boards. They choose where the dollars go and the Community Foundation does the work. They support local arts, culture, even the building of housing through the local Habitat for Humanity. Just this past year they created a scholarship fund for aspiring architects, confirming their designs on the future. |3
