b'It was an honor to coordinate a community- wide effort of this scale, especially during such an important time of year. It brought a nice boost to our local restaurants to close the year, and some extra comfort and security to hungry families for the holidays, said Abbey Bemis, Executive Director of ECEDC.Inspired by the success of the first Share-a-Meal event, several donors came forward afterward andexpressed an interest in continuing the program.By the end of February, a total of 2,050 fresh meals and 300 snacks had been distributed, and another group of restaurants were participating, including The Donut Shop, Sandusky Bell & Deli, Huggys, Gray Boyz and Peez, Rayz on the Bay, Oh Taco, Mesenburg Catering, Vine & Olive, Invention Restaurant & Cold Creek Caf, and Tofts on 250. According to Sarah Ross, Program Directorat ECEDC, Something I love about all these restaurants is that they represent seven different communities within Erie County. Six are women-owned and two minority-owned. Additional money was also raised by the community to continue the program through April 2021.The needs arose. The community responded. 6'
