As in virtually every community, Erie County is fertile ground for hunger. Sometimes the biggest idea is finding a way to efficiently deliver nourishment to those with more mouths than they have food. In honor of long-time community advocate and philanthropist Ruth Parker, we provided a large grant to one such organization that battles hunger in our midst: Care & Share of Erie County. It is the largest and most available food pantry in the area, one that lets qualified users choose what they need from rows of stocked shelves. Hunger pains can be distracting. Here the Foundation has helped replace hunger with hope for a better future.
